Adobe Premiere Elements 4 Tutorial
  • DV Camcorders - These devices include MiniDV camcorders, Digital 8 camcorders and AV-DV converters (Analog to Digital Video FireWire-based converter boxes). It is recommended to connect DV devices using FireWire/1394 if available. To connect DV camcorders via USB2 instead of FireWire, you will need to verify that your DV camcorder supports the USB Video Class 1.0 driver (sometimes advertised as USB over DV, DV Motion, USB 2.0 DV streaming). Most DV Camcorders do not currently support this driver. The older USB streaming format common on many DV camcorders is not able to send the video in the DV format over USB and is therefore not supported in Adobe Premiere Elements.
  • HDV Camcorders.
  • DVD Camcorders.
  • JVC Everio and Everio G Camcorders.
  • Mobile Phones: In order for Adobe Premiere Elements to read your mobile phone's .3GP, .3GP2 and .MPEG4 video file formats, you need to install QuickTime 6.5 or later. For Nokia phones, the software provided with the phone must also be installed.
  • Digital Still Cameras.
  • Webcams (see info below on capturing from webcams).
  • WDM Cameras.

  1. Save the file using the default name (MAQ#####.mp4).
  2. Transfer the video files to the PSP video directory (MP_ROOT100ANV01).
  3. Navigate to My videos in the PSP interface to select your movies.
  • DV Device control will be disabled and capture will not proceed normally if sound card is not present or offline.
  • If you capture blank portions of tape, then the result will be magenta video.
  • If capture is interrupted by a system event such as switching users, locking the system, or the screensaver, the duration of the captured file will be much shorter than expected. It is recommended that you disable the screensaver before starting capture and that you avoid any actions that may interfere with the capture.
  • For live capture from DV camcorders, you must first disable scene detect.
  • When you import some Flash files, a 'Macromedia Flash Player security' message reading 'Flash player has stopped potentially unsafe operation' may appear. Click 'OK,' and the file will import normally.
  • When you capture from HDV camcorders, you may see interlace lines in the preview window. The interlace lines do not appear in the captured video
  • DivX files might not be imported properly and sometimes only the audio or video is imported.
  • After you complete time lapse capture, it may take some time for the organizer to update and display the thumbnails for the captured files. Still images captured using Stop Motion are not added to the organizer.
  • Stop Motion capture is not supported for HDV camcorders.

  • Archival of projects with Type 1 DV-AVI files is not supported.
  • If standard definition menu templates are used when burning to Blu-ray, menu images will appear in low quality.
  • When you attempt to burn a Blu-ray disc to a previously burned disc, you will see an error message indicating that the disc is incompatible instead of an error message indicating that the disc is full.
  • Movies exported in H.264 format may have a few white frames added to the end.
  • Movies exported in MPEG2 format may be a few frames shorter than the original movie.
